Nanci Newton, LCMT

Nanci is a 1998 graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge. She is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), a professional member of the Society for Oncolgy Massage ( S4OM) and is a state licensed massage therapist. Nanci has maintained a full time massage therapy practice since 1998, beginning in Marblehead and moving to the Valley in 2000, to be a co founder of The Healing ZONE Therapeutic Massage.

A proud Chamber of commerce member in Amherst and Northampton.

She has advanced her massage therapy traning with certifications in:

  • Prenatal Massage (during pregnancy, labor and after the birth)
  • Oncology Massage (caring for clients with cancer)

Nanci was a junior high school band director for 10 years before entering the field of massage therapy. She enjoys traveling to offer her skills as a teaching assistant in two intensive continuing education courses Pre - Perinatal Massage with Carole Osborne and Safe, effective massage for People Living with Cancer with Tracy Walton. Nanci was also an adjunct faculty at Springfield Technical Community College last semester.

Nanci always enjoys participating in community activities such as the MS Walk on Team Remy , the Hot Chocolate Run for Safe Passage and Bills Challenge Trikeathlon for the Cancer Connection to name a few.

A musician and juggler, Nanci is proud to share her passion and zest for life with all she meets.

Janice Peterman, LCMT

Janice is a 2008 graduate of the Stillpoint Therapeutic Massage Program. She is an active professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association(AMTA) and a state licensed massage therapist.

She has advanced her massage therapy training with certifications in:

  • Prenatal Massage (during pregnancy, throughout labor and after the birth)
  • Infant Massage Instruction (small group or individual lessons)
  • Oncology Massage (caring for clients with cancer)
  • Heated Stone massage

Janice volunteers her massage therapy skills on the bicycle riders of the Pan Mass Challenge Jimmy Fund ride at the Mass Maritime Academy in each summer. She is also a member of the Mounted Search and Rescue Team of the Franklin County Community Emergency Response Team. Janice and The Healing ZONE team completed her first race last September in the Smith Fun Fit 5K.

Sue Guertin, LCMT

Sue is a 2008 graduate of Stillpoint Therapeutic Massage program. She is an active member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and a state licensed massage therapist as well as a licensed cosmetologist. She offers her services in a professional, knowledgeable and client-centered atmosphere in which a person is given the opportunity to realize how genuinely powerful massage therapy can be. She incorporates swedish, deep tissue, myofascial, neuromuscular and hot stone techniques into her treatments based on what the client's needs appear to be in order to encourage optimum health.

In her spare time Sue is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys kayaking, biking, horseback riding, rollerblading as well as nurturing her gardens. When not participating in these activities she likes to work out, snowmobile and ride her Harley. Because of her zest for these activities she understands the aches and pains associated with using ones body and offers her services to support her clients soft tissue needs.

Joe Hudson, LCMT

Joe Hudson is a 2001 graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute and is a licensed and certified Massage Therapist. He has maintained a part time massage practice since 2001 while also working as a Special Education teacher. He has advanced his massage therapy training in:

  • Caring for Clients with Cancer
  • Infant Massage Instruction
  • Stone Massage

Joe is an active Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Laurie Ellis, LCMT

Laurie is a 1997 graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge. She is a Nationally Certified and State Licensed Massage Therapist, and a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).
She has advanced her massage therapy training with certifications in:

  • Heated Stone Massage
  • Oncology Massage (caring for clients with cancer)
  • Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy (available in Cambridge only)

Each massage is tailored to the individual client's needs: pressure or depth, session duration, positioning, and speed of massage movements are taken into account when deciding how to work safely and effectively.
Laurie maintains a part time massage therapy practice in Cambridge, ongoing since 1997.
